DEPARTMENT OF ENERGY

Federal Energy Regulatory Commission
[Docket No. RP98-100-000]

Florida Gas Transmission Company; Notice of Filing of Report of
Cash-Out Activity and Request for Waiver

January 6, 1998.
Take notice that on December 30, 1997 Florida Gas Transmission
Company (FGT) tendered for filing schedules detailing certain
information related to the Cash-Out mechanism from October 1, 1996
through September 30, 1997. No tariff changes are proposed therein.
FGT states that Section 19.1 of the General Terms and Conditions
(GTC) of its FERC Gas Tariff provides for an Annual Report containing
an accounting for costs and revenues associated with the Cast Out
Mechanism, Fuel Recovery Mechanism and various Balancing Tools provided
for in FGT's Tariff. FGT states the instant filing is made in
compliance with those provisions. FGT proposes to carry forward to the
next Settlement Period a total of $757,543 in excess costs related to
the Mechanisms which are the subject of the Annual Report.
Further, FGT requests waiver of the provisions of Section 19.1B.4
of the GTC which requires a concurrent tariff filing to increase non-
compliance penalties in the event of excess costs. FGT states that it
is analyzing the revenue deficiency and reserves the right to make
later tariff filings following this analysis and discussions with its
shippers.
Any person desiring to be heard or to protest said filing should
file a Motion

file a Motion to Intervene. Copies of this filing are on file with the
Commission and are available for public inspections.
