Research, Engineering and Development (R, E&D) Advisory Committee

    Pursuant to section 10(A)(2) of the Federal Advisory Committee Act 
(Pub. L. 92-463; 5 U.S.C. App. 2), notice is hereby given of a meeting 
of the FAA Research, Engineering and Development Advisory Committee. 
The meeting will be held on January 29-30, 1998 at the Holiday Inn 
Rosslyn Westpark Hotel, 1900 North Fort Myer Drive, Arlington, 
Virginia.
    On Thursday, January 29 the meeting will begin at 9:00 a.m. and end 
at 5:00 p.m. On Friday, January 30 the meeting will begin at 8:30 a.m. 
and end at 3:00 p.m. The planned meeting agenda includes the following. 
The Committee will discuss and vote on a follow-up report by the 
Subcommittee on Air Traffic Services regarding Flight 2000 as well as 
the report of the Subcommittee on Runway Incursions. FAA will provide 
follow-up responses regarding the Committee's ``Report on the Status 
and Organization of Human Factors Within the FAA'' and ``Report of the 
NAS ATM Panel.'' FAA also will present its International Research and 
Development Program; Air Traffic Management Research and Development 
Action Team (ARDAT) Report; Global Analysis Information Network (GAIN); 
Safety Performance Analysis System (SPAS); and Flight 2000 Program.
    Attendance is open to the interested public but limited to space 
available. Persons wishing to attend the meeting or obtain information
