Southern Natural Gas Company; Notice of Proposed Changes to FERC 
Gas Tariff

January 8, 1998.
    Take notice that on January 5, 1998, Southern Natural Gas Company 
(Southern) tendered for filing as part of its FERC Gas Tariff, Seventh 
Revised Volume No. 1, the following tariff sheets to become effective 
February 5, 1998:

First Revised Sheet No. 43
Fifth Revised Sheet No. 44
Second Revised Sheet No. 57
Fifth Revised Sheet No. 58
Fourth Revised Sheet No. 62
Fourth Revised Sheet No. 63
First Revised Sheet No. 154

    Southern states that its filing is in compliance with the 
Commission's December 24, 1997 order approving changes to its OFO 
procedures and directing Southern to file revised tariff sheets 
consistent with its order.
    Southern states that copies of the filing will be served upon all 
parties designated on the official service list compiled by the 
Secretary in these proceedings.
    Any person desiring to protest this filing should file a protest 
with the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission, 888 First Street, N.E., 
Washington, D.C. 20426, in accordance with Section 385.211 of the 
Commission's Rules of Practice and Procedure. All such protests must be 
filed in accordance with Section 154.210 of the Commission's 
Regulations. Protests will be considered by the Commission in 
determining the appropriate action to be taken, but will not serve to 
make protestants parties to the proceeding. Copies of this filing are 
on file with the Commission and are available for public inspection in 
the Public Reference Room.
