Commonwealth of the Northern Mariana Islands; Amendment to Notice 
of a Major Disaster Declaration

AGENCY: Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA).

ACTION: Notice.

SUMMARY: This notice amends the notice of a major disaster for the 
Commonwealth of the Northern Mariana Islands, (FEMA-1192-DR), dated 
December 8, 1997, and related determinations.

EFFECTIVE DATE: January 6, 1998.

SUPPLEMENTARY INFORMATION: The notice of a major disaster for the 
Commonwealth of the Northern Mariana Islands, is hereby amended to 
include Hazard Mitigation in the following areas among those areas 
determined to have been adversely affected by the catastrophe declared 
a major disaster by the President in his declaration of December 8, 
1997:

    All islands within the Commonwealth of the Northern Mariana 
Islands are eligible to apply for assistance under the Hazard 
Mitigation Grant Program.
