Submission for OMB Review; Comment Request

    The Department of Commerce (DOC) has submitted to the Office of 
Management and Budget (OMB) for clearance the following proposal for 
collection of information under provisions of the Paperwork Reduction 
Act (44 U.S.C. Chapter 35).

    Agency: National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA).
    Title: NOAA Customer Surveys.
    Agency Form Number: None assigned.
    OMB Approval Number: None.
    Type of Request: New collection .
    Burden: 905 hours.
    Number of Respondents: 14,939.
    Avg. Hours Per Response: Varies between one and seven minutes 
depending on program needs.
    Needs and Uses: This is a request for a generic clearance for 
voluntary customer surveys to be conducted by NOAA program offices. The 
purpose of the surveys will be to determine whether their customers are 
satisfied with the services and/or products they are receiving and 
whether they have suggestions as to how the services/products may be 
improved or made more useful.
    Affected Public: Individuals, businesses or other for-profit 
institutions, not-for-profit organizations, farms, federal, state, 
local, tribal governments.
    Respondent's Obligation: Voluntary.
