ACTION: Notice.

    The Department of Defense has submitted to OMB for clearance, the 
following proposal for collection of information under the provisions 
of the Paperwork Reduction Act (44 U.S.C. Chapter 35).

DATES: Consideration will be given to all commenters received by 
November 20, 2003.
    Title, Form, and OMB Number: Application for Trusteeship; DD Form 
2827; OMB Number 0730-0013.
    Type of Request: Extension.
    Number of Respondents: 75.
    Annual Responses: 75.
    Average Burden Per Response: 15 minutes.
    Annual Burden Hours: 18.75.
    Needs and Uses: When members of the uniformed services are declared 
mentally incompetent, the need arises to have a trustee appointed to 
act on their behalf with regard to military pay matters. Individuals 
will complete this form to apply for appointment as a trustee on behalf 
of the member. The requirement to complete this form helps alleviate 
the opportunity for fraud, waste and abuse of government funds and 
member's benefits.
    Affected Public: Individuals or households.
    Frequency: On Occasion.
    Respondent's Obligation: Required to Obtain or Retain Benefits.

recommendations on the proposed information collection should be sent
