AGENCY: Coast Guard, DHS.
ACTION: Request for comments.

SUMMARY: In compliance with the Paperwork Reduction Act of 1995, the
Coast Guard intends to seek the approval of OMB for the renewal of one
Information Collection Request (ICR). The ICR concerns surveys of
customers' satisfaction. Before submitting the ICR to OMB, the Coast
Guard is inviting comments.
DATES: Comments must reach the Coast Guard on or before December 22,
2003.
ADDRESSES: To make sure that your comments and related material do not
enter the docket [USCG 2003-16298] more than once, please submit them
by only one of the following means:

Information Collection Request
Title: Surveys of Customers' Satisfaction.
OMB Control Number: 1625-0080.
Summary: Executive Order 12862 authorizes the Coast Guard to survey
customers to determine the kind and quality of services they want and
their level of satisfaction with existing services.
Need: Putting people first means ensuring that the Federal
Government provides the highest-quality of service possible to the
American people. Executive Order 12862 requires that all executive
departments and agencies providing significant services directly to the
public seek to meet established standards of customer service and (1)
identify the customers who are, or should be, served by the agency and
(2) survey customers to determine the kind and quality of services they
want and their level of satisfaction with existing services.
Respondents: Recreational boaters, commercial mariners, industry
groups, and State and local governments.
Frequency: On occasion.
Burden: The estimated burden is 5,000 hours a year.
